The Vivitar Automatic Extension Tubes 12/20/36 mm are used to allow a lens to focus closer than it does. Extension pipes are commonly used for macro photography and sometimes for closeup portraits.
With FD mount, your equipment will still control settings like the aperture, automatic exposure, and autofocus functionality. You can use these rings separately or combined together.

FD = The extension tube is designed for Canon 35mm film SLR (Single Lens Reflex) cameras with Canon FD mount. The FD mount replaced in 1971 the Canon FL lens mount.
