"Who was the inventor of the steam engine?" The robot is turned in the left circle so that its arm points to the question of a given topic. The players try to find the answer. To find out the correct answer, the robot is then placed on the right-hand side of the answer square with the mirror - and as if by magic, it turns around and shows the correct answer with its stick, namely "James Watt". This is made possible by magnets in the robot and under the answer side of the game board.

"Der magische ROBOTER", a game for 10 to 12 year olds, which is also popular with adults, was first published by Schmidt in Munich in the early 1950s. It has four double-sided question and answer sheets on a wide range of subjects, from general knowledge to literature, history and natural sciences.

In the former GDR, this popular game principle was used many times in various knowledge games. It was even used in two competitions.
