Original Knijpkat* steel torch with integral dynamo generator, which is operated by a pressure lever that can be locked in the down position.
This olive green version was apparently only produced in 1943, when Philips was ordered by the German occupiers to produce them for the Wehrmacht, but the inscription "IMPORTE DE HOLLANDE" (IMPORTED FROM HOLLAND) suggests that other French-speaking armies (Belgium, France, Switzerland) also used them.
Note that the paint is slightly chipped around the edges.
In good working order, supplied with its original Philips A67 2.5V - 0.1A E10 bulb.
* Knijpkat: means 'squeeze cat' in Dutch, because it evokes the noise produced by the dynamo.
Dimensions in mm and weight: 88 L x 51 W x 31 H - 210 g (330 g with shipment packaging)
